Where it all began and why we do what we do

 

HUMLE originates from Kalvsved, a small place on the border between Östergötland and the Småland uplands. Here, close to the forest, the earth, and the distinct changing of seasons, our journey began.

It didn't start as a ready-made plan.
It began with curiosity.

A desire to understand what we actually put on our skin.
A longing for something more natural, more honest.

And a plant, hops.

An idea that was allowed to grow slowly

 

From the beginning, it was about experimenting. Cultivating. Testing. Getting to truly know a raw material.

We became fascinated by the hop plant.
Not because it was trendy, but because it felt right.

A plant with a long history. With documented biological activity. And with a natural place in our Nordic climate.

Over time, the insight also grew:
That good skincare doesn't have to be complicated.

It needs to be well-considered.

A different path in skincare

 

Today, skin and body care often contain water, alcohol, and synthetic additives. Products that are quickly absorbed, but which can also disrupt the skin's own balance.

We chose to go a different way.

For us, natural skincare is about working with the skin, not against it.
To provide nourishment instead of diluting.
To strengthen the skin's own barrier instead of breaking it down.

Therefore, our organic skincare is based on plant oils, fats, and hop extract.
Raw materials that interact with the skin and with each other.

Simple in its form.
But powerful in its content.

Our philosophy is based on respect.

For the skin, which is the body's greatest protection.
For the raw materials, which are living and require care.
For the place, where everything begins.

Working with homegrown hops has taught us that everything takes time. That quality cannot be rushed. That nature sets the rhythm.

Small-scale, close, and personal

 

From the first experiments at home on the farm, we have grown, step by step. Today, we work in our old school building in Österbymo together with our team.

But the core remains the same.

We believe in small-scale production.
In having control over the entire process.
In creating skincare that feels personal, not mass-produced.

Every product we make is a result of hands, knowledge, and time.
